Yes. The 5500 series is designed with a patented "quick attach/detach" feature that utilizes a square tube socket. See Mounting Options for more details. Also, some brands of pressure washers already have a built-in, square tube “receiving socket” for the Rapid Reel 5500 series reels. Obviously, no bracket would be required for those pressure washers.

No. The 5500 series was not designed for vehicle, trailer or any other "over-the-road" application. They were specifically designed for attaching to walls or the frames of wheeled portable pressure washers. We recommend using either the 4413 or 4416 model with the tubular base mounting option for vehicle mount applications.

Yes. However, keep in mind that this will void the 2-year No-Leak guarantee. Although this reel is equipped with a chemical resistant stainless and brass swivel, harsh chemicals – such as aluminum brightener or other caustic chemicals – will dramatically shorten the life of the swivel and interior axle.

Yes. All of Rapid Reel’s high-pressure swivels use the same repair kit (part # 5004.003). Installation of the seal kit DOES NOT require the use of any special tools. However, you will need a dental pick or similar device to remove the old seals.

No. Because of the special requirements of each particular application (1/2” vs. 3/8” hose, single-wire vs. double-wire, rigid fitting vs. swivel fitting, length, etc.), Rapid Reel does not equip high-pressure reels with an inlet hose. A suitable inlet hose can usually be obtained through local dealers who carry hydraulic hose products, such as pressure washers, fluid power, heavy equipment or farm implement dealerships. For this model, you will want at least one end of the inlet hose (the end that threads into the swivel) to be equipped with a rigid 3/8” male NPT steel fitting.

Rapid Reel’s largest capacity pressure washer reels are the 4416 and 5516 models. These two models will hold up to 200 feet of single wire 3/8” ID hose. However, keep in mind that 200 feet will fill it to the rim. The capacity we recommend for “comfortable” use on these two models is 175 ft. of 3/8” hose.

No. Our semi-gloss black paint has proven to be an ideal fit for most consumer and commercial applications. This universally neutral color also keeps the reel looking good by helping hide the dirt and grime.

Yes. All industrial pressure washer reels are equipped with 3/8” swivels standard. However, the remainder of the reel is plumbed for 1/2” flow. To convert the reel for 1/2” flow, simply replace the standard 3/8” swivels with our 1/2” swivels (part # 0.5004.007). We recommend that you have your local dealer retrofit the reel for you since the reels are not sold with 1/2” swivels, nor can the 3/8” swivels be returned for credit.

At this time, Rapid Reel specializes in manual rewind hose reels only. Currently, the model AR134-RR is the only air hose reel we produce.

Not at this time. Our industrial reels are constructed of high-grade steel and painted with a durable powder coat finish.

It is not recommended. Many industrial hot water pressure washers are equipped with a steam option and are sometimes referred to as “combo” units. Wet steamers can reach temperatures around 300°F, and although this reel is rated at 325°F, we do not recommend you run wet or dry steam through it. The heat build-up within the hose still wrapped on the reel can create hose failure. In addition, most of the benefit from the high heat is lost the longer the distance it has to travel through a hose. If you want to use steam, we recommend that you bypass the reel with a 15-20-foot steam hose.
